Here are the details for Auditions:
When: Sunday, September 30th
Where: Eppler South Gym, Campus of BGSU, Bowling Green, Ohio
Time: 10a - 6:00p (No lunch break, bring snacks) Registration begins at 9:30am.
Audition Fee: $30
Details: Wear clothes you can move in (all black if you can) and bring your own weapons if you have them.
What to expect: Auditions will run like a regular technique rehearsal and we evaluate each individuals skill sets through out the day. We put an emphasis on movement, a performers attitude and their willingness to learn new things. We will teach some short routines that day and perform them in small groups. Auditions is as much a chance for you to get a feel for Phoenix as it is an evaluation of your skills. Plan to stretch, dance, spin, and learn work. You will leave the day having learned something new and having made some new friends. Within days of the auditions we will contact everyone to discuss their future with Phoenix.
Fees: Fees have not been set for the 2019 season but we can tell you they will range from $725-$925. In addition to the fees each new performer is required to get a member jacket ($70) and a rifle ($40) (if they do not already have one). We always say to not let fees be the reason not to participate, we will do everything in our power to give everyone the chance. We also have many opportunities to work off the fees.
Rehearsals: Our A guard practices on Sunday's with practices during the week for a Holiday camp at end of December till OIPA State Finals in March. THE FIRST REHEARSAL WILL START THE SUNDAY AFTER AUDITIONS SO PLAN AHEAD.
Weapon Experience: It is a plus but not a requirement. We do train every performer on Rifle as a technique and strength building tool.
Don't assume you won't make it, remember we look for a positive attitude and a willingness to explore new ideas and not give up. Even if you don't have a lot of experience come check things out.
